Castle of San Michele

A fortress that dominates the city from one of the highest hills in Cagliari, the Castle of San Michele dates back to the 10th century A.D., and is an extraordinary, impressive and fascinating monument. The old walls were built with Cagliari’s white ‘pietraforte’ limestone, and dominate the city offering a breath-taking 360-degree view that reaches to the sea. In the evening, spectacular sunsets paint the sky and the old walls with a thousand shades of pink and red. Surrounded by a large park, rich in Mediterranean native plants, the castle houses a multifunctional art centre. You can realize your love’s dream between the ancient walls of the castle, in a small and intimate crypt.

The photos show the location with a “Medieval” theme.
