Public Garden
A climbing wisteria hugs the entrance of this beautiful garden, the oldest in the city, and in the spring its light blue-violet flowers provide a lovely frame to a setting that looks like a painting. A special and romantic location that opens its doors to those spouses who love nature and calm. Situated in an evocative corner of the city, it is surrounded by a rocky ridge that is the foundation of the most ancient areas of Cagliari and where an endless number of plants with the fragrance of Mediterranean herbs grows.
Here, among well-tended green lawns, jacaranda trees with violet flowers, palms and two extraordinary examples of venerable Ficus macrophylla trees, but also fountains and sculptures, you make your way along a wide path leading to the Cagliari Gallery of Art, a building that once housed the Royal gunpowder magazine and which will make a perfect backdrop for your wedding.
The photos show the location with a “Victorian” theme.

There are two possible locations for an outdoor ceremony: a space in front of the Gallery of Art or beneath the branches of the large Ficus near the central path.
The ceremony
The ceremony may take place on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., or from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Reservations must be made online (link) according to the dates and times available in the calendar. Any cancellation must be made at least 30 days prior to the scheduled ceremony.
Ceremony setup
The Municipality will provide the basic equipment consisting of the celebrant’s station with a desk, a lectern and chairs for the bridal couple and their witnesses. The couple may decorate the chosen location with additional decor of their choice and at their own expense, with permission from the Local authorities. At the end of the ceremony, all decorations must be removed.
It is possible to reserve a space for a reception following the ceremony, for the newlyweds and their guests.
