Lazzaretto Sant'Elia
Just a stone’s throw from the sea, the Lazzaretto Sant’Elia is an important part of the history of Cagliari. This building was used in the 17th century as a hospital for people with infectious diseases, and after World War II it hosted residents whose homes had been destroyed in the war. It is a beautiful building with a square floor plan and a large cloister at its centre, perfectly renovated – set like a jewel between the blue of the sea and well-kept gardens.

The wedding ceremony will be held in the garden in front of the building.
The ceremony
The ceremony may take place on the third Saturday of every month, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., or from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Reservations must be made online (link) according to the dates and times available in the calendar. Any cancellation must be made at least 30 days prior to the scheduled ceremony.
Ceremony setup
The Municipality will provide the basic equipment consisting of the celebrant’s station with a desk, a lectern and chairs for the bridal couple and their witnesses. The couple may decorate the chosen location with additional decor of their choice and at their own expense, with permission from the Local authorities. At the end of the ceremony, all decorations must be removed.
