BUAOB SENTRO Knitting Machine 48 Needles for Adults, Smart Automatic Circular Crochet Knitting Machine with Row Counter

Availability:

I’m a beginner and have next to no knitting and crocheting experience. I learned how to crochet a long string, so basically just the first row, and did that a lot. I’ve since made a few dishcloths by crocheting, and made some potholders with loops on a loom. I had knitted a small piece of a scarf but never finished, and did have looms, so I made a hat once, but it was beginner material for sure. So I have a strong interest that has persisted over the years, but finally have the means to take on a real project as an adult and this is the perfect place to start! After watching some YouTube videos that all said the same thing the instructions said, I felt confident enough to give it a try myself. I did appreciate that there is a QR code that you can scan to show you a quick video of someone starting also. The instructions are quite detailed and served as a great reminder as to what I had watched on YouTube. It’s pretty simple and straightforward, especially if you have loom knit before since you know what the machine is doing. I did quite a few rows, switched colors, and was very watchful about dropped stitches and did quite well not having any. My daughter walked up and just started spinning it, and then I had dropped stitches since I had just changed colors and not gotten it to a point where it was catching. I also realized that, after doing a whole round where it wasn’t catching, that I just need to make sure it was all the way in the line in the front of the tension holder. It isn’t easily seen if you’re sitting with it in front of you at desk height, so I’ll be sure to catch that and peek over. I ended up just cutting it and undoing it and trying again. This time I had one dropped stitch and caught it after a couple rounds. I learned how to fix a dropped stitch, but seem to have gotten a little confused and not quite fixed it right. I decided to start over. All in all, it really works quickly. Starting over wasn’t such a problem since I knew it would come together pretty quickly. As long as the string is fully in the tension holder line in front and you’ve gone a couple hooks, dropped stitches aren’t too much of a concern. I was able to spin it quickly enough to get 30 rounds in maybe 15 minutes? And that was with going slow and changing colors. I could see being able to do that in 10 minutes with a little more practice. That much could make a headband pretty easily. My daughter is 10 years old and caught onto it pretty quickly as well! Of course, she needed supervision and help, but it definitely makes for a nice crafting evening together!Other than using it, it was in perfect condition when I opened it. All you’ll have to do is attach the legs with the included screws and screw driver by pressing the legs into the slots on the bottom, then attaching the tension holder in the same way. The suction cups slide into the legs. They are a bit helpful but I still hold a leg to keep it completely still. It might work better with a slicker surface or maybe a little water on them to help them adhere. It did come with four balls of yarn, two smaller ones and two bigger ones. From watching YouTube videos, it seems to vary on the colors you will get. I got a khaki, a navy, and two blueish grey, which is quite nice for my wardrobe if I am able to finish this hat with what I have. It’s definitely great for practicing. So it’s super quick to start, quick to get a good amount of rows, and pretty quick to finish a project, at least probably after some practice. I’m happy with it overall and will be using it to make a ton of projects I’ve saved, and teach my kids also!
